Sunny Side Bubble Bar

When I first saw this bubble bar I was scared, as you can see form the picture it is completely covered in gold glitter, and not just a little sprinkling there is a lot of that stuff on it. I decided to avoid it but after reading about it online I had to give it a try. Citrus is one of my absolute favourite scents and boy does this bad boy smell of citrus. Its a combination of grapefruit, oranges, and lemon, what could be more divine.

When I use bubble bars I often cut them in half or in the case of larger ones sometimes in quarters. This one is a halfer but it can get messy. There was glitter every where, upon further consideration next time I would probably just use the whole thing to avoid finding glitter in odd corners of my bathroom.

The bubbles from this bar are soft and smell amazing, and the glitter, not so bad once it is in the tub. The water has a golden shimmer to it making it one very luxurious bath. I was scared that upon getting out of the tub I and my tub would both look like a shiny disco ball, but luckily I was wrong. With a quick rinse all the glitter was gone. I will definitely be repurchasing this bubble bar.

Ocean Salt

I love the way my face feels after a good scrub, but it usually takes a little while for the burning to stop and the softness to take over. I have been on the look out for the perfect scrub that not only removes all the dead skin but also leaves my skin feeling soft and not like I just assaulted it with sandpaper. Ocean salt does just that. It is a combination of coarse and fine sea salt that provide the scrubby element, along with avocado butter and coconut fat that moisturizes. It is also packed with lime extract, vodka and grapefruit extract which not only makes this product smell heavenly but also helps to refresh and enliven the skin.
I use it every other day and have not yet encountered a problem with it and my skin had never been softer. This product can also be used as a body scrub, I have not tried it as such yet but have heard only good things about it. The price may seem a little steep but you don't need a lot of the product to get results, about a teaspoon is what I use for my face. I will definitely be repurchasing this product when I run out and plan to keep it as part of my face care regimen.

Mask of Magnaminty

At my last visit to Lush I received a sample of this product, I was unsure about buying it that day because I normally find that face masks over dry my skin. That was definitely not the case with this mask. This mask contains kaolin, peppermint oil and crushed aduki beans. The mud draws out all the yucky impurities, while the peppermint tones and refreshes. Although the mask is a bit tricky in getting on due to the aduki beans, they act as a gentle yet effective exfoliant when washing off the mask.
I was pleasantly surprised when I first used it how soft and smooth my skin was, and not dried out at all. In fact the dry patches that I had before had gone away. The smell is not the most pleasant, but quite tolerable, and with the results I got I'm more than happy to deal with it. Another bonus is that it can also be used as a body mask if you are dealing with some break outs on your back or chest. I decided to first try it out on my face and out of the small sample that I received I got 4 uses, a little goes a long way. I will definitely be picking up a full size version of this product during my next Lush haul.

Frog Prince

This little bath bomb was part of Lush Valentines day collection for 2010. Frog prince was a yummy smelling bath bomb that to me had notes of citrus but according to their website has notes of Jasmine. Either way I was not disappointed with the scent. It turned the bath water a lovely shade of green and was a great way to relax. Another great feature of this bath bomb are the red lips, they are actually a built in bath melt which means in one product you get half a bath cocktail. The downside of this product is that it fizzles out quite quickly, but that is almost made up for by the fact that once it is all gone you do find a Prince inside.
Although Valentines day is over, and this product is no longer in stock online and in most stores, I would definitely repurchase it if they released it again next year.

Big Shampoo

Big shampoo is marketed as a volumizing shampoo and boy does it do just that. The featured ingredient in the shampoo is sea salt but this should not scare you away. It has a yummy citrus scent, which leaves your hair feeling just amazing. This is not a shampoo that you would use every day, because although the sea salt is great of giving you that extra lift, using it regularly would dry out your hair. But for those special nights out, or just a day when you want big hair Big shampoo is what you need. I have very thin limp hair that falls flat with a matter of hours after styling. This shampoo allowed me to keep that volume for the whole day, and even into the next. A definite must buy if you are looking for some extra bounce in your hair.

How it started...

I used to be afraid of Lush... when I would walk past the store the strong perfume would give me a headache and I could never understand how they stayed in business. Then one day my awesome older sister made this post and I was intrigued. A couple days later when at the mall doing some last minute Christmas shopping, I wandered into Lush and have not looked back since. Bath bombs, bubble bars, bath melts, shower gels, shampoos and more I was in heaven. Since that faithful day I have spent more than I care to admit at Lush and have decided to chronicle my relationship with their products. What I love, what I hate, what works and what what needs some improvement. I hope that this blog will help some of you fellow Lush lovers to also share you thoughts and opinions on the products I feature, I think its time to get started.
